The Mississippi Association of Grantmakers, with the support and cooperation of the Southeastern Council of Foundations, welcomed approximately 60 members and guests at its regular quarterly meeting, held on Friday, April 13, 2018, in Canton, MS.

Janine Lee, President and CEO of the Southeastern Council of Foundations, spoke briefly about SECF’s commissioning an updated look at the state of philanthropy in the region, with the results now available in the report “Philanthropy as the South’s Passing Gear: Fulfilling the Promise.”

She introduced David Dodson, President of MDC, Inc., who provided an overview of the data and insights contained in this new report, along with a theoretical framework for how passing gear philanthropy can be utilized to improve outcomes and impacts in our local community.
