Join Grantmakers for Education, experts and funders in Dallas, Texas for a regional education funders’ summit on racial equity, proudly hosted in partnership with Lumina Foundation. This powerful one-day summit is your opportunity to support your foundation as a change-maker and catalyst in advancing racial equity in education. National and regional thought leaders and practitioners will guide deep discussion, informed by perspective and experience, to develop strategic action for African-American, Hispanic and Native American learners. Funders from the southwest will engage in a robust conversation about their organizational and individual journeys addressing racial equity in education. To launch this thoughtfully guided program, Howard Fuller of Marquette University and John B. King Jr. of The Education Trust (former U.S. Secretary of Education) will provide a historical perspective on education equity and delve into philanthropy as a catalyst for change in advancing racial equity in education within the U.S. Other speakers include Wynn Rosser, president and CEO of the T.L.L. Temple Foundation, Tarajean Yazzie-Mintz of the American Indian College Fund and George Tang of Communities Foundation of Texas, and more.
