The Mississippi Association of Grantmakers (MAG) is a membership organization that builds capacity and fosters collaboration in Mississippi’s philanthropic community. Its members include private, public and corporate philanthropic entities, along with nonprofits and others serving philanthropy in Mississippi. Its work leads to investments which enhance positive outcomes for children, families, and communities within Mississippi
MAG hosts quarterly meetings of its members to share information, build networks, discuss topics of mutual interest and learn about critical issues in philanthropy. Member networks also meet regularly to organize and implement projects that address issues of interest to them. Basic member services are focused on:
- Building relationships and networks among members and others
- Building member skills, knowledge and capacity
- Expanding co-investment opportunities
- Providing access to data, research, and evaluation
- Building public will and influence
MAG is a member of the United Philanthropy Forum, a national association committed to connecting a diverse network to lead change and increase impact in philanthropy. Through membership in the Forum, MAG greatly expands the network of contacts and services available to its members. The Forum connects peer networks for philanthropists in communications, membership, programming, public policy, and finance and administration. Membership in the Forum also extends a variety of discounts on products and services to MAG members.
